Keeping the cost of dentistry services within our patients’ budgets is important to the RiverPlace Dental team. In addition to offering affordable preventive, restorative, and cosmetic dentistry, we are also happy to work with dental insurance providers to offset the cost of treatments. If you would like to take advantage of your dental insurance coverage, let our team know when you call to schedule your appointment. From the very first time you visit our Portland dental office, our knowledgeable team members will partner with you to make the most of your available insurance coverage. If you ever have questions about your dental benefits, don’t hesitate to reach out to us at any time. We’re always happy to help.
There are two main types of dental insurance policies – preferred provider organizations (PPO) and health maintenance organizations (HMO). HMO plans have slightly lower premiums, but they set strict regulations on the dentists you can visit and treatments you can receive. We are not currently in-network with any HMO plans, but please let us know if you have an HMO policy. We’ll help you with your coverage in any way we can. PPO plans allow more flexibility, and we are happy to process and file claims for the majority of these policies.
Every dental insurance plan is different, so we’ll need to review your policy before we offer an estimate of coverage. Most plans offer 80 to 100% coverage for preventive treatments like checkups and cleanings. Restorative services like fillings and dental crowns are usually covered 50 to 80%. Other services like orthodontics, dental sedation, and sportsguards, when elected, receive between 20 and 70% coverage.
If you want to make the most of your dental insurance benefits, keep the following in mind:

Out of network dentists may charge higher fees than those accepted by your insurer, but you’ll have to pay the difference in pricing. In most cases, these differences in pricing our minimal. Our team is happy to offer in-network dental insurance benefits for the following providers:
